Alternate Soundings:
The philosophy we want to bring with AL.SO was "doing what others
manufacturers don't do". So our experience led us to start designing
studio gears with a different point of view. For us, technology is just
a way to reach a specific goal. Not a commercial issue. If a particular
piece of gear is better with transistor, why should we use tube ? For
example, we're often asked why AL.SO's first release, the Dynax, a
dynamic sound shaper, already acclaimed by most famous tech, is not a
tube compressor. The answer is simple : for what we wanted the unit to
do and for the technical specifications (especially low distortion, low
noise…) transistor was a better choice. We don't think a technology is
better than any other. It all depends of what you want to do. We have
some projects, at AL.SO, that will use tubes or transformerless
topologies, etc…

Olivier Bolling:
Musician since he was a child, mastering engineer, maintenance technician and technical
director for TV and then for world class recording and mixing facilities, Olivier Bolling
perfectly knows what are the needs of both recording and mixing engineer.
During 10 years at Plus XXX studios, a world class facility, Olivier built and designed two new
control rooms and recording studios. At this time, he was also contacted by Robin Porter and
all the AMS-Neve design team to give an active contribution to the "Barchetta" 88R project.
Now working with a full team of professionals, through his companies (Audio & Tech and
Audio Company) Bolling build and install professional studios for producer, artists and
commercial facilities.
As a designer for ALternate SOundings, Olivier can design products which directly respond to
customers needs.
After years, an entire team joined Olivier to start the commercial release of AL.SO products
